The Energy Department, part of the European Purchasing Organization of ArcelorMittal, is responsible for purchasing electricity, natural gas and industrial gases (oxygen, nitrogen, argon and hydrogen) and developing energy projects for the group such as energy efficiency, power plants to valorize off-gases, industrial gas plants, renewable energy projects, as well as CCS and CCU projects to accompany ArcelorMittal into its journey to reach carbon neutrality by 2050.
Being part of this department, the Long-Term Contracts & Energy Projects team is responsible for purchasing Natural Gas and Electricity Long Term bilateral contracts, developing sourcing of Renewables through Power Purchase Agreements, on-site Renewables generation and partnerships, implementing Energy Efficiency services contracts and supporting mills in off gases valorization and CCUs projects.
Part of the decarbonization roadmap of AM in Europe will lead to an increase of Electricity and Natural Gas needs to reach several dozen of TWh of consumption per year.

Scope and Responsibilities
Market intelligence
Marketanalysis for Electricity and Natural gas, LNG, biogas
Assess different market indexation with trading team
Follow-up regulation on Long Term Energy sourcing
Follow up competitor’s strategy in Energy sourcing
Electricity, Natural Gas and/or LNG sourcing
Lead negotiation on LT contract
Define negotiation’s strategy
Lead supplier meetings
Analyze offers
Make proposal /recommendation for decision making
Negotiate long form contracts
Interact with internal stakeholders (Sites, Trading team, Finance, Legal, Shipping, Corporate Technical Team, etc) and external stakeholders (Suppliers, regasification terminals in case of LNG, TSO, etc) to secure an efficient sourcing solution
Develop Business Plan in case of Joint Venture Business Model
Support energy team outside Europe on Electricity and Natural Gas sourcing when needed
Be the point of contact for Brazil, Kazakhstan, Mexico, South Africa, USA
Support on contract negotiation or benchmark when relevant
Main characteristics and skills:
Professional experience minimum 7 years in Energy sector with ability to negotiate bilateral contracts
Strong analytical skills, ability to model Business Plan is a plus
Keen commercial sense
Dynamic, persistent, working autonomously and taking initiative
Ability to interact effectively and professionally within a multi-cultural environment, team player
Strong organizational skills
Fluent in English with minimum one European language (German, French or Spanish)
Masters degree in Engineering or Economics
